Loving and Compassionate Lord
We pray for all the people of Lebanon after the catastrophic explosion which devastated so much of Beirut. We pray for all those killed and their loved ones who now grieve for them with broken hearts. We pray for all those injured, those who wait in patience and silent prayer by their bedsides and those who care for them. We pray for those made homeless and who have lost all their possessions and possibly their livelihoods and for all who are trying to bring shelter and succour to them at this time.
We give our most grateful thanks for the response of people and agencies around the world who are offering help at this time be it practical or monetary. Help us too to be generous in our response to this disaster.
And we give thanks too that in all such emergencies wherever they occur we know you to be with the suffering and afflicted to strengthen, uphold and comfort them with you enduring love. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

HYMN: Father Hear the Prayer We Offer
THE LORD'S PRAYER
ALL: Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name,
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil,
for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen
HYMN: Will your Anchor Hold in the Storms of Life?
Introduced by David
Prayers, led by Martha
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way;
The Lord be with you all.
And the blessing of God Almighty,
The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,
Be amongst us now, and remain with you always.
